What bikes do you use on Sri Lanka cycling tours?
Hardtail mountain bikes from Scott, Giant, and Bergamont with Shimano Deore or XT groupsets, 100mm-travel suspension forks, and tubeless-compatible tyres. They suit every route we ride, because road surfaces change without warning and estate roads turn to gravel. E-bikes from E Motorad and Waltx are available on request.
Do you have e-bikes in Sri Lanka?
Yes. E-bikes from E Motorad and Waltx come with Shimano pedal assist, a removable battery and charger, a comfort touring saddle, and a display showing range and assist modes. They are the most common upgrade riders request, particularly for hill country tours.
What bike sizes do you have?
S, M, L, and XL on both hardtails and e-bikes, covering roughly 155cm to 190cm+ in rider height. Tell us your height when you book and the bike is set up and adjusted for you before the first ride.
Can I bring my own bike to Sri Lanka?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own bike, or use ours at no extra cost on guided tours. If you bring your own, our support vehicle still carries tools, spare parts, and a driver who is also a bike mechanic.
Is a helmet included?
Yes. Helmets are included on every tour, along with the bike, an English-speaking cycling guide trained in first aid, a fully equipped support vehicle, and a pre-ride safety briefing.
Who are your cycling guides?
Local, English-speaking guides trained in first aid, route safety, and emergency response. German and French are available on select tours. Every ride is also followed by a support vehicle driven by an experienced driver-cum-bike mechanic.
What happens if I cannot finish a day's ride?
The support vehicle follows every tour and can pick you up at any point. You can hand over the bike, ride the next section, and take nothing away from the day. This is exactly why we put a vehicle on every hill-country ride.
